It has 5 BB brand EV batteries. I bought another smart charger to up my bank to do 5 batteries instead of 4.(EVT168 is 4 batts) Took it for a spin, and got to 47mph hehe.

After looking into a 60volt Mod for my EVT 168, I kinda fell into a new bike.

Well it goes like this... "Hey Iam looking to buy a 60 volt mod kit for my EVT168" .Electric motor sports says " We are kind of busy with these new motorcycles we have coming in , and would have to make that kit for you. So it might take a long time.".. So i said "What new bike?"

Well it kinda led on to me getting a really great deal on a Mountain Chen scooter. Last one they had in stock, seeing as they were moving onto ZEV Motorcycles now.

I was told it is almost the exact same as the EVT Z-20. Top speed of 45mph, range 30-40 miles, 60volt system , and in white and blue I belive.

So here is me buying a new ZEV having never seen it not knowing the modle type or most of the specs lol. Just that it is very much the same as a Z-20.

I'll add a picture of the Z20 so you guys can see what I was shown so far.

Also i'll add a pic of it when it gets here friday.

Hey everyone, for some months now i'v been without a cool car to drive around in. With winter being here I got a winter based ride (a mini-van), but now I have gone back to roots and bought a much nicer ride.

As you can see from the pictures it isnt a winter car lol. You all know the price of gas is just getting higher so .... This is a 4 cylinder 1.9 ltr that has a supercharger and turbonator 1.9. Full custom body kit with REv 19" ultra-light wheels. Custom dials, shift kit, suspension and more.

Now I know your thinking "err but your all about green travel?" This puppy gets 35MPG ! not bad for a car in this day and age (in the USA).

So iam back in some kind of style.

OK guys and gals it has finaly arrived!!! Iam the proud owner of an amlost new (73 miles on it) EVT (Electric Vehical Technologies) 168 Equinox :) I love the retro 1960's look to it. With a top speed of 35mph it moves fast enough for most small streets. I must admit to feeling a bit slow when getting passed by cars hehe. I dont feel bad when they are paying $3.35 per gallon of gas, and iam just passing by at an equivalent 1200 mpg :) (less then 1/6 cent per mile)

Make your own Solar Panel day

Today I thought i'd try my hand at building my own Solar Panel.

1st I had to get some solar cells. I looked around web sites and checked companies but in the end Ebay won out as the cheapest way. For my 1st try I thought i'd go easy and do a 35 watt panel. The picture above shows the full set of cells I won for $40 . The next step is getting them connected and placed in some kind of frame. I'll update ya on that when I get the tabbing and whatever I use for a frame and covering ( Glass/plastic etc...) .

It's gonna be a fun project :)

Yesterday I finaly went out and got a Wii. I gotta say I'm lovin' it. The one thing I was not happy with is the way it isnt pointing at the screen (I was thinking it was like a light gun - your cursor is where you point...) Not very accurate, and totaly crap for POINT BLANK type shooters. On the other side of the coin. I think it's the most interesting way to play some of these games. I only have Wii sport + Wii games. the Boxing was quite fun. Bowling is by far the best I think. The built in WI-FI is very nice of them :) So over all the system isnt too bad. Nothing close to my PS3 but not a bad FUN system.

Well i gave it my best shot..... Seams that area we live in has SOOOOO many trees and tall building with a 500 yard radius that I got almost nothing from the wind turbine. So I sold it. I'll stick to sun power from direct light:)

This last week my new Charge controller w/ load diverstion arrived !!

As you can see from the picture to the left -> there is a small load to divert to (my old car headlight). Along with this I also added an 85amp diode to stop any power flow back to the wind turbine. Now for some sad news... I had to send back the PMA of the turbine because it was faulty:( Iam now waitting for that to come back to me in the next few weeks. The company that I bought it from is on leave for 2 weeks as of the 10th of july. So Iam still stuck waitting again for parts. ( seams iam always waitting for something to get here). So more on the wind project when it gets here. CYA !!

Ps. I also got a new computer seeing as my laptop was holding the full workload of being a desktop 24/7 .. :))

This is the Hornet 600 watt wind turbine. Seams these days I use more power then I can make on a daily bases. To get around this I have turned to adding a 600 watt (Upto 1200 watts in 70mph winds) Wind turbine. Once this gets here in the next few days i'll have enough power to keep me going I'd say for a while.

It's almost like a drug ! you just want to get more and bigger AE stuff! With the added Wind turbine came added problems about getting it running. 1st off I got the thing itself. Then I needed a way to get it in the air... a long steel pole over 10 feet with guy lines and a mounting base. I did this so I can move it around to get the best place for it. Next was the problem that my BZ MPPT 250 (Charge controller) was SOLAR power only with NO way to divert the power coming in from a wind AE. (you divert power away from the battery bank if they are full so not to over charge them. Ya send it to say a water heater element 12volt one) . It seams that the solar controllers simply short out the panels when the battery (s) are full. Thats a great way to handle solar if you need to, but wind AE systems need to keep a load on the turbine so they dont over-spin and get damaged. So the next part was a wind/solar controller with load diversion. I havent really herd much about this small company (Boston Mountain mfg) ,but they had a 1500watt wind/water/solar controller with load diversion built in too for only $126 after shipping. After a quick google I found almost nothing but for a short forum rant about some people not getting there parts in Canada ??? I chatted by email to Boston Mt mfg abit about there products and decided to give them a go.

There controller should arrive next week some time. ok... next part was the magical weilders cable #6 standard size. I must say that the things they say about this cable are very very interesting. They talk about how it can take almost any abuse throw at it. This is now used instead of carbon brushs on the wind trubine to get +pos power to the ground. So I went out and got 20 feet of it at a cost of $33 . So together with pole-cable-controller-turbine I'm all set!

BTW this thing puts out (rated at) 50 Amps. I am not going to get 70mph winds in my area but a steady 10mph and gusts of 22 to 24 will keep the battery bank alive and well.

I'll post new pictures of the construction of this beast and hope it helps anyone interested in going this route. I'll also let you know how easy or not it was to get running.

Growing Solar Power system - Concentrator

Hi again ! Well after adding the 2000watt inverter, and the extra 250Ah batteries I had to add more WATTS to the PV! .... Pictured to the left are the 3 new Concentrator MicroPV Solar panels. Each is rated at 36 Watts. so in the real world we have about 120 WATTS with the 4 PV's seen here. O yeah there much bigger then you may think haha being around 5 foot long each. The small blue one is 38" tall and is sitting almost directly next to the new ones for scale. I'll be adding yet more panels in the next month (or maybe even a wind turbine 400WATTS) I hope to be completely free of the grid within the next 6 to 9 months!!! I feel great about helping the planet by not using the dirty energy that is made by most major energy Co. . Next on the list is going to an electric or fuel cell car. CYA 4 Now!

2000 WATTs of POWER

2000 Watt inverters are what they call over kill, but not when your running HDTV's/PC and other things all at once. My old 400watt inverter wasnt upto the task of running many household goodies. The good thing is I got it for a only $75 so I couldnt turn it down.

As you can see in the picture I have expanded the Solar power system a little:) I now have over 400Ah to use. In a few weeks I hope to have another 225Ah added also. along with the added AH I needed something to keep them charged so I purchased 2 more Solar panels and upgraded my Controller to a 25AMP MPPT250. I now get upto 30% more power to the batteries from my panels. so over all thats a total of 290% more power to the use. (Thats including the +30% per panel and the 2 new panels.. I know it's a very over rated percentage but I feel better after what it cost me lol)

So I am doing my bit to help the world :) what are you doing?

PS. the small red 400watt inverter is sitting ontop the mighty 2000 watt beast :) just to show yu the size diff.

Yesterday I found out just what all the big fuss is about HDTV. Yeah I know the specs and the hype and the info. Known about it for years but I never really got hands on with HD. So I went out and bought a nice new 32" LCD HDTV with HDMI and 1080p. The change in the gfx on the PS3 when shown in HD is outstanding. There is such a shocking detail upgrade in picture quality that I was blown away. (I had seen old 1080i on HDTV's years ago and thought that they looked very sharp but nothing to write home about ya know?).... Movies played on my HDTV look very very clear , and when I put a normal DVD on it looks a bit shabby now compaired to the Blu-ray version.

This is all well and good and your thinging "yeah we know ,we know" but! the PS3 creates the 1080p gfx on the fly and are 10x more impressive than a pre-made movie. Going direct from HDMI the image is taken from the video frame buffer stright to the screen with no conversion what so ever. This leads to the best picture i'v ever seen on a TV. Well thats my rant out of the way lol.

Bottom line ..... Get an HDTV with HDMI if you have a PS3 !!! O yeah also dubbles as my PC monitor now :)

Playstation 3 PS3 - Wow!

After looking for a Wii for almost 3 weeks and seeing them all go for around $400 on ebay I said to myself "Hey ! lets see what the price of a PS3 is? Cause the Wii is like $400!". So I went on ebay to check them out and low and behold they were new ones for like $900 OUCHY I thought. Then I thought HEY! used maybe??.... To this end I found a few auctions that said used PS3, So I watched a few and thought I'll bid on a 20GB setup that has that extra controller. So thinking that it's $500 new + $50 for the extra controller I bid $550. After a day the auction was over and I'd won the PS3 for $540. That is cheaper then going out and buying one at best buy new after tax! The shipping was a low $15, so in total I spent $555.00 on an almost new PS3 with 2 controllers. .....
I cant tell you how awsome these things are. I have an xbox360 and thought well there very close to the same thing. Boy was I wrong. The Grand Turismo HD (free download by the way) blows the crap out of my 360. To top all this off the system has totaly free online play! No more of this Xboxlive payments for me. I loved Gears of War on 360 but the Fall of man on PS3 has such a smooth frame rate that it is just that much better in the visual department. GoW has a better plot and nicer textures but RFOM just out shines it on the raw power of the PS3. I am not a fan boy for either system! I loved my xbox1 it was by far a better system then ps2 but didnt have the games that ps2 had. I can see the PS3 killing everything in the next year.
Here is something I couldnt belive. They are already setting the design of the PS4! they say that it's going to be a 2010 release but other than that nothing is said about what it may be. I cant belive they announced it as work in progress already ! I'll start saving now to get what must be a $1000+ system in 2010 lol. (I think it will get pushed back a few years if the PS3 is selling games well and working well over all).

Well yesterday my "new" projector came by fedex! The Hitachi projector was setup within 10 mins and I went to the local Home dept store and bought 2 bike hooks and 2x 1"x2"x6' wooden poles. I set the hooks in the ceiling and place a wooden pole across them. Then took the screen material I got from Ebay ($10 for 115" screen size), and draped it over the pole. using the second pole I attached it to the bottom of the material. Taddaarr !! a nice screen for my projector at a cost of $15. (the material is made just for this with a rubber backing so it is always flat and I can fold it up and take it down when I want to.)
Anyhow ... I got it all together and setup took about 20 mins to do the screen and setup the projector. To my great relief the projector shone bright with a perfect picture. The colors are clear, and the picture sharp. Now I cant find any sign of how many lamp hours are left but i'll cross that bridge when i come to it.
This projector has tons of inputs. 2 RGB sets / 2 PC VGA inputs / multi audio in and out and some other lder input types. and it swaps to the active input automaticly!!. The zoom and focus are powered and can be controled by a few simple buttons. The projector has a 650 lumin lamp and I must say on the screen it looks very bright even in normal light conditions - I'd say the material of the screen helps alot as it refects light with little refective shards in it. In all Iam very happy with it. So for a total of around $200 I have a home theater system ! using my PC and Achos 700 as video feeds. Cant wait for summer and I can place it outside on a 300" wall for a drive-in movie kinda feel ! (using the Achos 700 as the portable video source).

They sent me the wrong projector ! o-boy

I recived the epson projector on the 18th of Dec. I was like "Wow it's early" then i opened it and set it up. To my dismay it had a yellow blob of washed out color in the middle indicative of a projector with 3000+ hours on it and the blue LCD has been exposed to too much ultravilot light causing it to only let 30% light through instead of the 100% normaly. So then you mix the red + green and the washed out blue ya get that yellow blob. To top this off the red lcd was WAY out of allignment and so overall this projector was fubar. I called the company I purchased it from and they said they must have shipped me the wrong one and sent my nice 100% working one to the other guy (who iam guessing is gonna be really happy with it seeing as he ordered one that was ment to be a parts machine). I said " Could you send me a working one then please? " to which they said , opps we dont have anymore of them ..... But we do have a Hitachi cp-l850?. So I looked up the hitachi on the web -boy it was a pain to find that one for some reason- after finding the info on this Hitachi I said sure but check that it's 100% working 1st. The sales man Deva then went over to the test area and personaly played with the projector and check the the thing out as I had instructed him to do so. His reply to me was hey this look great , it's got a very clean picture and looks almost new. To this end I said "How much more is this projector then?" Deva said "seeing as we gave yours to someone else you can just have this as a trade up" They even paid the shipping cost directly back to me for the other projector I sent back, and it will get here before the 25th :) Iam adding a picture of the newer Hitachi projector below so you can see the difference between them. Sorry it's such a small pic. It's a hard to find model for some strange reason.

I spent a week on ebay bidding on many video projection systems untill I got one at the price I was willing to pay:) Now that seams normal for ebay right? My good fortune is the fact that I picked up a projector that not only shows HDTV (using an rgb to vga converter) but ONLY has 100 lamp hours used lol. (2000 to 3000 hour lamp in it). All for the low price of $170 after shipping !! ... I must have bid on over 50 projectors before I won this at this price. So my moral here is ... "Good things come to he who waits"

My revamped , faster, better , bionic (not) 4xAA rechagable battery charger.
Added an extra cell so it charges that much faster . Will charge 4 aa's in around 6 hours (thats 4 2000mAh NiMh) in full sun. Cost me about 50cents for the battery clip and the rest were scrap parts. (there is also a web site that sells scap solar cell dirt cheap. about $16 per pound in weight).

After reading a few forums I have added a few small changes to xigon-x .
1st I slowed down the enemy fire rates
2nd I changed the games overall frame rate so it works better on some PPC's.
3rd changed TEXT on screen to reflect the way the game is interacted with.(tap on screen ect..)
over all I think it works better and is more user friendly now.

New Updates have been made to my shooter.
I have fix a few major bugs in the game engine, and the effect is overall better gameplay. I only did this for the PPC as the GP2X peple had upset me with some nasty comments. ( i know it's not everyone ).. So this game is running very smooth now with no major flaws that I can see. Next i will be adding a few more waves and a Boss..

Cables i used were from an outdoor power extension cord. :) work a charm with NO power loss ect.. (just a bit larger core than 13 AWG almost 10AWG. (free from Mom hehe)

I added a home built "A" frame to the solar panel so I can stand it very easily, and turn it to the sun when iam around in the daytime. (Pic on top is before complete frame was done). Also made a wood box for the batteries sit in with the front being a larger wood panel. Both inverter and Charger are mounted to the battery box.(see picture above).

Well i have been running this for a few days now and havent run the batteries down passed 50% yet , and I use alot of power for my laptop (DTR 17" screen Dual raided HD). I run that 6 to 8 hours a day . The ip30f panel keep the batteries at max almost all day. Checked with multimeter and it gives out over 19volts at 2.2amps (full sun) well impressed with it.(Made in America means something here).

Well iam off the grid for most of my electronics now! Iam loving it. Reports say that the power i make with this system pay for itself in approx 3.3 years or less depending on sun in your area. I for one belive it seeing as the use iam getting from it already!

Well i seam to have gained yet more power! Yes thats right a second Deep cycle battery giving me a total of 200Amp/Hours ... now to keep it powered . I get the PV solar panel tomorrow. Lets see how much juice i get each week :)

This is what I have done so far. 400watt filtered(stops snow on tv's) Mod/sine inverter. 5amp 12/24volt solar charge conrtoller. 120amp hours battery deep cycle. 30watt PV panel. It's a small start but can be added to as i go along. .. I can see this getting large in years to come.

30Watt Solar backup / off-grid power

Solar Project 2 Started

Yesterday I bought a new Solar Panel online. Innergy Corps. 30watt Solar panel. I should get it in around a week to 10 days. Also in the order I purchased a 5amp 12/24volt solar charger controller. The total for all this was $220.00 (that is the cheapest I'v ever seen a 30watt panel -$178) after tax and shipping. Next i will be going to pep-boys for an 800watt inverter($69.99) , and a battery($89.99) deep cycle RV.
Now i should get about 150 watt-hours of power from that solar panel per 5 hours of good sunlight. (17.3volts 2.2amp max i belive - 12V 1.8A normal use). I will be trying to run my laptop off this semi-perm . also maybe my room lights (13watt flo bulbs that give out same light as a 60watt incandesent one).

Add all this to the solar battery chargers and ALL my electronics run off grid.

Ok the saga of the solar powered chargers goes on!

I felt that something was missing from my charger and that something was a finished box :) So i got myself into DIY mode and found a plastic VHS box (a nice thick one from a fancy movie hehe) and prceeded to messure,& cut out a whole for the solar cells to look through at the sun. Also inside is the holder for the battery clip. as you can see it look ok but not as nice as that store bought 4xAA,AAA,C,D charger that only cost me £9.99 . I have found that my charger works much faster because of the increased amps in the cells I made. (store bought is 150mA mine is 200mA) also 2xAA at 200mA is just faster anyhow. Just do that math. But my next project is a full blown Household AC power supply from solar power. I'll update you all as it happens with pics :)

Back Home At Last !

The sun is bright today ! Here I am standing 6000 miles away from that old town in england. I met up with some old friends and it's like old times already! A bit more paperwork and life can start normal again, with a job and car and ect .... ya know what i mean:) Well Iam off to do the daily stuff. CYA

Can you belive the state of flying to the USA as of the 10th Aug '06! That bag is all i can take ! My hand baggage (my laptop backpack) had tobe placed inside it and the weight is now 30Kg!! Iam also scared of what will happen to the case at the airport as I have lots of electronics -eg; wires solar panels, Laptop, video games, DVR and more... I have heard of the staff at airports stealing stuff from baggage and also things getting broken and not being replaced as this is now a state of "almost" WAR ! What is going on !! why is my friggin life cursed!

Solar Powered Charger Part 2
I got hold of a multimeter and tested the solar charger I made. 4.5v at 100mA :) it charged 2xAA 800mAh in about 6 hours ... It's great to know that the parts are all but free (scrap from my dad's garden . old night lights) , and the power is free as charged batteries. So my next project is going to be making a home AC power backup. I'll be using a deep cycle battery and a 16volt solar panel with a meter + DC -> AC converter like ya get in cars. :)

Well i finaly got a fully working 4xAA battery charger. I also added a test LED with a on/off switch (so turned off i get full power to the batteries). The LED shows me a few things , power is flowing, current mA as brightness. I also used a diode just after the LED on the + out to the battery. This is so it cant discharge the batteries when theres no current flowing from the solar panels.

Iam using 4 old solar cells from garden lamps LOL. I was told they were busted and so was given them. I stripped them down to just the cells and rewired them into this :) I added them as 2 sets - both sets increase amperage then the 2 sets joined to increase voltage. Now i dont have a multimeter, but these as single cells recharge 2xaa batteries a day to use as lights at night. So i figure the way I wired them up it should be much faster in the set of 4 to do only 4xAA's. I did test them last night. I used a 60wat lamp to keep them flowing, but I know this cant be even half of there power output. I tested the Nicad's and yes they were charged a bit, so it does work. Now to get full sunlight and see how they charge in that:)

My 1st real use of solar power. My battery powered fan was using 3 sets of batterys a day. So i bought a solar panel and a motor . Free fan power! Now the panel can give out from 0.4v 400mAh to 3.2V 100mAh dependig on how you setup the configuration of the 8 solar panels within the square. right now for the fan it's set at 1.6v 200mAh (200mAh is needed to move the motor for the fan ).

There is a feeling of satisfaction to knowing that your not gonna be paying a power bill (or buying a battery) for using the fan or what ever you have attached to your solar panel. Next iam making a battery charger and thats how iam gonna power my portable games and my GPS and a few other things :)

Looks like iam gonna need more solar panels then LOL.

BTW all that was made for under £10.00 ...and solar panels dont die if treated right:) so thats a tenner for a life time fan :)

Dad wanted a new flat TV!

Well we went to the web and found them a new 15" LCD TV for £179.99 from Argos. not to bad really.
So after checking amazon and lots of places it was strange to find it local in a shop cheaper! so the moral is to look close to home 1st :)

last few days i have been working with the new sdk. i now have a basic player controlled moving background. dont sound much but thats the same code as say a shootem up. so all is going well.

Well it looks like the Wii will be launched around october 2006 in Japan. priced at about $200 US dollars. So lets look at the prices so far :) Xbox360 $400 , PS3 $600 approx and the Wii at the $200 .. Now lets look at inovation - all online, ok. all wireless controls, ok. Emulation of other systems ummm yeah! Wii only. Gfx and sound are all going to be awsome thats a given.
Well i know that the PS3 will have uber powers, and the 360 has HD and some nice online stuff, but when you look at the next-gen console list what makes you say "Thats really cool!" or "I never thought of doing that before." or maybe " Now i'v been asking for that with out a mod for years!".

Ok yes I own the 360 and the ps2 and the psp NDS GP32 GP2x ect.... I can say that out of all the consoles the Wii has my attention for a few reasons.
Just my thoughts:)
